December 22, 2009 - No more breast enlargements for girls under 18, Italian government orders

from www.telegraph.co.uk – Italy is to introduce legislation that will make it illegal for girls under 18 to have breast enhancement or other plastic surgery.

According to the latest figures available more than 10,000 teenage girls had surgery in 2008 – with many of them getting the operation as a gift from their parents.

Officials want to clamp down on the growing number of cases where unauthorised and authorised surgeons have caused problems with botched operations or sub standard silicon implants.

Currently in Britain there is no legislation preventing under-18s from having plastic surgery and, as in Italy, there have been a number of horror stories of operations going wrong.

Francesca Martini, an undersecretary within Italy’s welfare ministry, said the government wanted an official register of surgeons qualified to perform plastic surgery drawn up.

She said: “This legislation is primarily aimed at the growing number of girls under 18 who have breast enhancement surgery purely for fashion reasons and have no idea of the risks involved.

“Far too many … girls are unaware of the fact that there are risks with this type of surgery and it should not be used purely for fashion and looks. At the moment we have a Wild West, cowboy style system of plastic surgery for young women and this must stop.”

Francesco D’Andrea, of the Italian Society of Plastic Surgeons, said: “We are very much in favour of this register because too many people carry out these operations without the proper qualifications.

“Banning under 18′s from having the surgery is also a good idea because these girls are just too young to be operated on. Some surgeons have no idea what they are doing and create huge risks.”

According to statistics from the Italian Society of Plastic Surgeons there are around 85,000 breast enhancement operations a year in Italy, of which 70 per cent are for aestheticic reasons and 30 per cent follow cancer treatment.

December 21, 2009 - Steve Hirsch, Larry Flynt Rumored Buyers of Playboy?

from www.theimproper.com – Playboy, the iconic men’s magazine that introduced millions of young boys to their first female breast, could be heading for life support after a deal to sell the struggling publication to Iconix Brand Group collapsed. At least that explains the magazine’s choice of has-been actress Tara Reid to grace the cover of its biggest issue, the double year-ender.

The magazine’s obviously cutting costs. Unfortunately, so is the rest of the media industry. But now questions are being raised whether Iconix was the right company for the deal in the first place.

Iconix, which owns such companies as London Fog and Danskin, said it backed out of the deal after it decided “it would be too complicated to separate the Playboy brand from the company’s other assets,” according to Bloomberg News.

And, it got involved in the first place, for what reason? The chance to have three girlfriends at the same time like founder Hugh Hefner, maybe?

Iconix said it was leery of the Playboy’s adult content both in print and online.

Both segments are under assault from the media recession on the one hand and by the onslaught of free content, including porn, on the Internet, where Playboy operates pay Web sites.

Licensing, which Iconix specializes in, makes up only a small part of Playboy’s revenue stream, accounting for $8.7 million of its $56 million in revenue in the quarter ended Sept. 30.

Playboy has slashed cost drastically and overhauled its management over the past year to keep the company afloat. Newly appointed CEO Scott Flanders, who replaced founder Hugh Hefner’s daughter Christine in June, is working to find a buyer. Meanwhile, the company is expected to post a significant loss on the year.

The only bright spot is that Playboy’s stock has been rallying lately on the prospect that a buyer will step forward and pay a small premium for the stock. The stock is down today on the Iconix news.

Vivid Entertainment Group, the biggest porn producer, and Hefner’s longtime nemesis Larry Flynt, are the next two logical buyers. “I’ve heard there are a couple of suitors, but no details,” says Paul Fishbein of Adult Video News.

Hopefully someone will step up. What will Tiger Woods’ babes do if they lose that payday?

New York, New York- Source: NEW YORK POST- Two buxom strippers go on trial on prostitution charges in Manhattan today, insisting that while they might shake it, they certainly didn’t market it.

Porn star Alexia Moore and her co-defendant, topless dancer Falynn Rodriguez, both 27, face a possible 90-day jail sentence if convicted. But they’re willing to risk that in a bid to clear their names and save their reputations, their lawyers say.

“Just like thousands of girls in New York City, they are exotic dancers,” said Salvatore Strazzulo, lawyer for Moore, whose real name is Cassandra Malandri.

“I’d say 100 percent of these misdemeanor prostitution cases don’t go to trial — they end in plea deals or get dismissed,” Strazzulo went on, noting how unusual this trial will be.

Adam Moser, Rodriguez’s lawyer, agreed. “This trial is about as unusual as it gets for girls with no record.” Moore and Rodriguez were busted in a July 2008 raid at their place of business — Big Daddy Lou’s Hot Lap Dance Club on West 38th Street.

Cops busted 21 employees during the raid, which netted more than a dozen alleged hookers, along with husband and wife proprietors Louis and Betty Posner, and seized bulk-quantities of condoms and sex toys — including something listed on a police property voucher as a “masturbation machine.”

An undercover cop is set to testify that Moore and Rodriguez not only did more than jiggle, they charged exorbitant prices to do so. They allegedly struck a deal for $5,000 — for a threesome with “Undercover No. 2948? off-site and at a later date. “They thought it was a joke!” said Moser. “I mean, $5,000!”

The strippers played along, but never took the banter seriously, and by the time they were arrested one month later, no sex had ever transpired, the lawyers note. Undercover 2948 didn’t record the conversations, so it’ll be his word against the women’s.

Both women rejected plea deals offering no jail, no probation, no community service, and just a conviction on disorderly conduct — a violation that would not result in a criminal record. But prosecutors had one condition — the women would have to confess to being prostitutes, thereby implicating the Posners, who are awaiting trial.

“They’re using these two girls — forcing them to go to trial just so they can get to the Posners,” Moser said.

November 21, 2009 - Playboy.com’s “10 strip clubs that offer more than a lap dance”

The adult magazine conglomerate goes outside the box for their own version of a top club list

Despite the fact that Playboy seems to have an unrequited, look-but-don’t touch fascination with our industry, their online division produced a decent piece last month chronicling their quest to find the most creative adult nightclubs in the country. From San Francisco’s Lusty Lady Theater, whose dancers put on musical (as in trumpets and kazoos) peep shows, to the weekly nude oil wrestling matches at Dallas’ XTC Cabaret, Playboy scoured the U.S. to find more than two-for-one drink specials and other usual fare.

Of those the Playboy.com “One Strip Beyond” story mentions, some are genuinely different, while other choices seem uninspired for the rest of us that are in the know. Jumbo’s Clown Room in Los Angeles, for example, sounds like a David Lynch movie come to life. And after all these years reporting on sex and culture, it’s impressive to see that a place like Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami—often mistaken for a casino and now officially the world’s largest strip club at 74,000 square feet—even impresses a voice like Playboy Magazine.

Our favorites? Both, surprisingly enough, hail from the Pacific Northwest. The first, Mary’s Club in Portland, is proud to have tattooed contortionist entertainers who sometimes smoke cigarettes with their toes. And in Eugene, Oregon, the Silver Dollar Club offers an annual event that is as popular with horror fans as it is their regulars and the curious—a haunted house/strip club. (Ed note—Awesome!)
